BP’s difficulty

The difficulty of BP, Administrator of his own business: the existence of a major imbalance between the time dedicated to business and the time available for the family and personal needs. What BP wanted was to be able to achieve a balance between professional and personal life.

The approach of the difficulty: We started analyzing facts detailing the activities carried out daily by BP and his 20 employees, and from what displeases him in work relationships with his employees. I used simple questions, direct and very clear where the answers can give BP informations on what he’s doing good and not. Even if at that moment he was displeased about what found out, immediately thereafter BP has managed to see other implications of his business behavior as well as manager of his own business. I've challenged him to see what motivates people to remain in his business as employees, to build an employees motivation plan, to redefine job responsibilities for each position and to grant ''the empowerment'' needed for achieve them.

The obtained result: He understood that he can not do everything alone and that sooner or later, if he doesn’t stops for some rest and some fun, he will pay the price of this excessive effort. I have explained to him that the solution is always in the problem. Through the careful analysis of the problem, by identifying what needs to be done differently to achieve what he wants, BP was able to redefine his organizational structure, his responsibilities and his employees to an extent where he could be the ''Command Desk'' of his business, to always have the big picture and to intervene into operational and routine activity only if it’s absolutely necessary.

In a relatively short time he was able to ''enjoy'' his first weekend with the family without having to answer calls or send/receive urgent e-mails!

It was a MAJOR change!
